Oh happiness! Oh joy! The Melbourne International Animation Festival has kicked off and there's SO MUCH to see and do! Ireland's Institute of Art, Design & Technology is a renown animation school and it is responsible for training some of the finest Irish animators working in the biz today. Each year IADT releases a graduate reel and the Animation Festival will be showcasing a collection of the best new films appearing on there.

Award winning film producer Deborah Szapiro has curated this celebration of the world class female animators who have been an integral part of the Australian animation scene and created some of our country's most iconic and successful animated shorts. Go forth and delight in the talent!
WHEN: Tuesday 20th June - 6pm
When a film is described as "A seriously unhinged and maniacal ride through a twisted set of tales that mercilessly intertwine Mexican goblins, Elvis impersonators, three-headed dragons, tricked-up sock puppets and a virtual cavalcade of heroic deaths" you KNOW you can't possibly miss it. Make sure you check out Murderous Tales, a feature from Czech filmaker Eva Probylova!

One strictly for the grown ups - here's a celebration of nudity in animation, featuring the works of animators such as Australia's Frank Armiento, Japan's Naoki Yamaji, the UK's Cathy Snelling, and Hong Kong's Wong Ping amongst many others! If a decade and a half of sexuality-infused animation classics is your bag, then here is your perfect Friday night on the town.
