Although only a small following in Australia, Depeche Mode has cultivated what can only be described as an exceedingly devoted fan base since their formation in 1981. Australia actually gave the band their first ever #1 with their classic retro track, 'Just Can't Get Enough' however if you thought the band was still all sugary pop, you would be in for a very pleasant surprise. Their most recent album 'Sounds Of The Universe' managed to top the charts in the UK and across Europe where they are still a stadium act despite many Australians, if they've heard of the band in the first place, generally asking if they're still together with a puzzled look on their face. 'Fragile Tension/Hole To Feed' is the most recent remix EP which can be purchased either digitally in Australia from iTunes or on import from Europe. The stand out track on the EP is easily the Roger Sanchez Club Mix of 'Perfect' which is just one massive hands in the air but still somewhat dark dance anthem. Laidback Luke also delivers a blistering hot remix of 'Fragile Tension'. Check out the sound bites on iTunes and allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised.
