Journey and the destination
Artisan's Charlie Krowitz is more than a top notch consultant...

Artisan's own Charlie Krowitz is a woman of many talents, including an incredibly fine artist. We took a moment to talk with her about her new side project; 'It's about the journey and the destination'.
Background:
When I sit in front of my canvas I go into my own little zone giving me an experience that is hard to put into words. Art I believe is about the experience the artist has when working on a piece as well as the experience the viewer has when viewing the work. This could be due to the subject matter, the colours or the look and feel, which conjure up different memories and associations.
Journey:
My aim is to make an exhibition that is personal and significant to the viewer. Even though my paintings are traditional in nature, I want to make things interactive (as far as painting is concerned). That’s where social networking and you come into the picture (excuse the pun!) What I am after are any of your best photo’s you have taken on your travels or at home of interesting adults that I can paint…I want to keep the subject as people as I find us to be fascinating creatures and I like painting portraits most.
Destination:
Once you have kindly agreed to allow me the right to use your photograph for my painting I will put together the exhibition. I am hoping to get as many images as possible. Not only would you be helping an aspiring artist but also for any paintings sold, a portion of the proceeds will go to charity.
So...if you like my idea and have any great photos then please send them through to charlie@getartisan.com.au.
