Jodi Magi will be showcasing her first solo exhibition at the Brunswick Street Gallery this August.
In a battle of dreams versus practicality, Jodi originally studied print-making at art school in W.A. before switching courses to graduate with an Illustration major, Graphic Design minor. Further dilution and distraction led to gaining a heavy-truck driving license, primary school teaching qualifications, backpacking throughout Asia and working as a freelance corporate designer on and off for a decade. Eventually, after a heavy bump to the head in Taiwan, she picked up the paint brushes, pencils and clay and got back to what she was meant to be doing in the first place - art!
This brings us to the present where she figures, it is about time she introduces these friends to the greater world beyond the four walls of her home. She adores nature in all forms, is passionate about environmental responsibility, is interested in exploring depictions of innocence at risk of disillusionment, sweetness in shadows... and challenging herself always.
Jodi’s exhibition will be showing from the 13th – 26th August 2010 at the Brunswick Street Gallery.
