agideas 2009 moments
AGIdeas!
....

For the past two years, Artisan has been thrilled to be involved with the AGIdeas Conference. And each year, we ask our team to share with us their highlights post conference and to revel in the inspiration from the speakers they’ve heard. Elke Braithwaite, Artisan’s Advertising Team Consultant, shares with us her highlights from this year’s AGIdeas.
Attending the opening day of AGIdeas this year was an absolute blast! Not only was there a spectacular line up of talented individuals speaking for the morning, but there was a general hype and buzz about the place amongst the hundreds of students, industry professionals and, like me, recruiters.
To choose a favourite from the morning would be a feat in itself. So I won’t. Instead I’ll highlight a few stand-outs…..
It began with Stefan Sagmeister’s laid-back and insightful view on the link between Design and Happiness. He had the entire audience enthralled by his quirky look at furniture and design pieces which he has created during his hiatus in Bali for the past 6 months. For someone with a seemingly charmed life, he is considerably humble and engaging and offered us all some food for thought.
Next up, Shannon Bennett – Owner/Director/Designer extraordinaire! This was a drool-worthy display of what is possible with a little ingenuity and a lot of culinary expertise. Shannon talked us through the beginnings of what is now his own mini empire of creative kitchens and eateries in Melbourne. This speaker’s exuberance combined with a few tantalising visuals lead to a new respect for modern cookery, and very likely a couple of hundred new customers for Vue De Monde!
Over the course of the morning I also had the pleasure of seeing Jill Bilcock talk about her experiences as a film editor, and a brilliant one at that! Having worked with the likes of Baz Luhrmann and Sam Mendes, Jill has put her magic touch to many an Australian and International box office smash. She successfully took each of us on a tour of the side of film that is not often mentioned but that evidently has a major influence on the end product.
Every speaker I saw was both unique and intriguing leaving me feeling inspired and in awe. If you did not get a chance experience AGIdeas this year make sure you treat yourself to this creative feast in 2010.
Did you have an amazing AGIdeas 2009 experience that you would like to share with us? Then email here and we’ll publish them in future Xpose. Keep an eye on future Xpose to hear more inspired moments from the Artisan team.
